PHS PTSA GENERAL MEETING MINUTES

Tuesday, October 3, 2017

 

 

Those in attendance:  Dawn Despain, Sally O’Niell, Katy Kimball, Trish Anderson, Tyla Francis, Liana Champlin, and Christy Young

 

Called to Order at 6:30pm

 

Financial Report:  Sally presented.  Total from grad night account is $5496.83.  Total from the PTSA general account is $3,501.05.  Budget for the 2017-2018 was presented.  Tyla moved to approve.  Katy seconded.  Motion passed.  Audit for the 2016-2017 school year was presented.  Sally moved to approve.  Tyla seconded.  Motion passed.

 

Bylaws and Standing Rules:  Presented to general meeting.  Christy moved to approve.  Liana seconded.  Motion passed.

      

Presidents Report: Homecoming week was a success.

 

Membership Report:  Currently, we have 72 members.  Check for $324.00 and membership rooster will be sent to AZ PTA tomorrow.  After fall break, we will do a member drive/thank you for the teachers and staff.

 

Hospitality Report:  Luncheon for teachers tomorrow.  Signup Genius is working great.  Planning for soups and salads.  Be at the school at 10am.  November 16th is another luncheon—discussed doing a brunch or dessert bar.  There will be another luncheon in February and one during teacher appreciation week.

 

Fundraising Report:  Sonic nights are Sept. 7th,Oct. 5th, Nov. 2nd, Dec. 7th, January 11th, Feb. 8th, March 1st, April 5th, and May 3rd.  Goodwill drive will be Nov. 18th  from 10am to noon.

 

Communications Report:  Discussed using the RemindMe app for getting messages to parents.  PHS PTSA account is setup.  We will send out message inviting parents to join after fall break.  Katy to meet with Mr. Swan about improving communication with parents.  Please let her know if you have any ideas.

 

Grad meeting Report: Next Meeting is October 24th at 6pm in the lobby of the high school.

PHS PTSA GENERAL MEETING MINUTES

Tuesday, November 14, 2017

 

 

Those in attendance:  Dawn Despain, Sally O’Niell, Katy Kimball, Tyla Francis, Liana Champlin, and Christy Young

 

Called to Order at 6:35pm

 

Minutes from meeting on October 3, 2017 was presented and approved.

 

Financial Report:  Sally presented.  Total from grad night account is $10870.43. Total from the PTSA general account is $3245.83.

      

Membership Report:  Currently, we have 68 members.

 

Hospitality Report:  Next luncheon will be in February and one during teacher appreciation week.  We have been asked to help with the teachers Christmas party, which will be the week before school gets out.

 

Fundraising Report:  Sonic nights are Dec. 7th, January 11th, Feb. 8th, March 1st, April 5th, and May 3rd.  Goodwill drive will be Nov. 18th  from 10am to noon.  Katy will be present.  Hopefully, to make some money for scholarships.

 

Communications Report:  Katy to send out emails or bright arrow announcement with fundraising information and information on remind app.

 

Grad meeting Report: Next Meeting is January 23th at 6pm in the lobby of the high school.  Katy, Sally, and Dawn will shop on CyberMonday.  Discussion about changing up the prize room and prizes.  Dawn has been talking to senior classes for ideas about party and gifts.  Reminder to complete phone calls to local businesses. Dawn to talk to administration about doing 50/50 raffles during sporting events to raise money for scholarships.

Box Tops for Educations

P.H.S. Cares!

BOXTOPS  AND P.H.S.– CONTINUING THE CARING!

Starting immediately, PHS PTSA will be launching their PHS Cares Campaign with Box Tops. The Box Tops Program ends in 8th grade–but our schools always need your support!  We will gladly redistribute the Box Tops to the PUSD School of your choice (ABIA JUDD, LINCOLN, TAYLOR HICKS, GRANITE SCHOOL, and MILE HIGH MIDDLE SCHOOL).  You  or your student may bring your Box Tops to the main office and put in the specially marked container that will have the Box Tops label on it.  Please place the Box Tops in an envelope or clear plastic bag with the name of the school you want it given to (if you wish to designate a particular school)and we will make sure that they are given to the right place.
